Strawberry Shortcake

Today was too funny not to tell about.

Kyle woke early (around 6'ish and came and got in our bed. Nate got up and began to get ready for work and a little while later I too snuck out to start the day. Not long after walking out of the room I heard Kyle yelling. I thought he woke to discover Mom was no longer in there, but no. He was yelling in his sleep...

Kyle - "TURN IT BACK ON!"
me - "shhhhhh"
Kyle - Eye's open and yells again "TURN IT BACK ON!"
me - "turn what back on??"
Kyle - "STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE.... TURN IT BACK ON!"
me - after a brief giggle, "Strawberry isn't on today, you were just dreaming"
Kyle - "NO!!! TURN IT BACK ON" followed now by crying
me - "Kyle, look there is no TV in here, you were just dreaming"
Kyle - "GO GET IT! GO GET THE TV! TURN IT BACK ON!"
Me - after no luck on consoling him I called for back up, "NATE"
Nate - after a brief giggle, gives Kyle a sweet hug of comfort.
Kyle - "TURN BACK ON STRAWBERRY! I WANT TO WATCH IT!"

This battle continued back and forth, Nate grabbed out small 9 inch TV and set it up by the bed so Kyle could see that Strawberry was over. Now he could watch the dog show that was on. He still could not be convinced that strawberry wasn't on. Finally I turned on "Babe" which was in the VCR and he calmed down.

Yesterday we went to some neighbors to share our Sunday dessert (yummy Lemon cake from the wedding we attended the night before) with their Sunday dessert.... Strawberry Shortcake. So I wonder if that is what triggered his mind. Strawberry Shortcake is on TV on CBS Saturdays but we didn't watch it this week.
