Jan 3, 2009 - Big Boy Bed

Finally! Kyle wanted a "big boy bed". He was SO good sleeping in the crib. Ashlyn started climbing out of the crib well before she was even two. Kyle was just as happy and content as could be. He loved sleeping in the crib, naps usually took place, so why would I put an end to a good thing? But, he is getting older and he needs the encouragement of being "a big boy" ..Binky's at night were still an issue at this time to.
So when we came home from spending the entire Christmas holiday in Utah we asked him if he wanted "the big boy bed". Nate had Kyle very involved and excited about the change that was taking place. The kids both got to help take down the crib and much to Kyle's excitement, he got to help construct the new bed.
I was worried that we had ruined a good thing. Now he was going to be getting up allot and not nap. To my great surprise, Kyle did awesome. Nap time did become a bit of a struggle but at night he stayed put and went to sleep. He has done so good! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Hill for giving us the bed (used to be part of a bunk bed Nate used growing up).
