PRE-SCHOOL
Today Kyle started Pre-school. Last week when he met his teacher he was so excited to start school. But, after a long weekend when it came time he was not too excited. Then Mom made a big mistake and asked him to wear his new school shirt for his first day if school. I should have let him go in his pj's if that was what would make his first day start with a smile but I messed up and got him sad and the whole morning snowballed from there. So, Kyle's first day of pre-school started with tears. I had to walk him into class and stay awhile. He finally bid me good-bye but never once gave me a smile :0( I am hoping Thursay will go much better.
Note: Kyle has always been a home-body, he doesn't really like change. Yesterday he told me when he grows up he is going to be nothing, that way he will always stay home.
He was in the Nursary at church for 6 months before he would go without Nate or I, even after that it was another 3 months before he was happy to say goodbye to us and not cry as we shut the door.
For this picture I wanted him to stand by the door and smile, this is what I got instead.

The good news....Kyle's first day of school ended great! He had a great time and was done being sad moments after I left. He is looking forward to the next school day. AND, he let me take a picture of him being happy.
FIRST GRADE
Last Monday, Aug 30, 2010 Ashlyn started the first grade. My little girl is gone to school all day! She was so excited to start, she immediatly found friends to sit with and un-like her brother, she could care-less where I was when it was time for school to start. Ashlyn has been such a good friend to Kyle and helper to Braden, it will be a big change here at home without her.
Finding her coat hook
Sitting at her desk.
And... Ashlyn being in first grade means she rides the bus home too. Yay for Mom, no more car pooling to the school.... well, this year anyways.

awww...poor Kyle! Glad things turned out for him. How did yesterday go?
Ashlyn looks so beautiful!
They grow up so fast. It is so cliche, but seriously just seems like last week that Lucy was talking about 'a girl named Ashlyn' in her preschool class!
Those pictures of Kyle are SO sad! He's too cute. And, could Ashlyn look a little more like you? Um, NO.
