Today is my Dad's 65th birthday.
My dad has always been so special to me. He has been a comforter when sad. A Friend to laugh and talk with and a great listening ear.
As I think back of specific things that are "my dad" I thought it would be fun to share a few.
*My Dad can whistle REALLY well. It is so fun and he seriously sounds very pretty.
He whistles while he works.... always. If you stop by a house that he is working in and you don't see him right away, just stop, listen, and follow the whistle. When he had some teenage boys working with him and they would listen to the rock station on the radio, he would whistle along, not to listen to the words or because he enjoyed the music, he just always whistles to the radio. I am willing to bet that most the time he is unaware he is even doing it.
*Dad gave me my great love of Nature. As long as I can remember he has loved to take his binoculars and camera out to the mountains and go bird watching. I have always loved that I can see a bird and ask what it is, he has always had the answer. He can even identify many bird by their whistle, and yes he whistles to them.
*Guess where I got my love of photography. My Dad! He has always included me in his outings to take pictures. I was very young when he first started handing me his equipment and taught me how to use it. I will tell you, photography has come a long ways.... thank goodness. Those old cameras where too particular, and you couldn't shoot, shoot, shoot and know how good you did. No, you shoot only what you know will be a good shot so you don't "waist" all the film. Then you go home wait a week to get your pictures back and then wish you would have done most everything differently.
Thank You Dad for always sharing your equipment with me and for being a great teacher.
To share how great of a nature photographer my dad is I found a few pictures he took last fall on my computer. He was just "playing" when taking these ones. These only scratch the surface of the beautiful pictures he can take.

This is my Dad and I on a special date to the zoo when I was about 8 years old. I remember feeling so special this day. We had a great time and looking at these pictures always make me smile. My dad has always been so fun.
This is one of my earlier pieces of work. I took this picture of my dad on his 44th birthday. I have had this in my album since. Check out my awesome writing skills I found on the back.

This is my graduation day with my parents.
This picture is a real treasure. Dancing with my dad on my wedding day. We danced to an awesome song "Daddy's little girl, by Kippy Brennan" I wanted to post the song here but I can't find it on the Internet and the original was borrowed.
Look how cute this is. I love the look on dad's face watching Nate and I dance.
One more very special shot to me. This is my dad holding Ashlyn when she was only minutes old. It ment so much that he was there the day she was born.
Finally, here are a few pictures from dad's birthday party we had this past Saturday. Hard to believe he is over 50. He is still so active, it is wonderful!
Blowing out the candles. We were trying to be environmentally friendly and save the ozone by not adding all 65 candles. I bet if we had we would have warmed the earth another 5 degrees.... ha ha
Dad modeling his huge piece of cake mom cut for him.

This is most of the "Losee" clan trying to get their share of the cake.

What a special tribute to your dad. Is he a pro photographer, and he has taught you. He is amazing. You definitely got his "eye" for photography.
