Dentist Appointments

Today both Kyle and Ashlyn had a dentist appointment. Ashlyn has been to a dentist once before about a year ago. Today the hygienist (Kathy) was so cute with her. She put Ashlyn in the chair, raised her high up and down. Sat her up, laid her down. She showed her all the tools, let her touch them, and taught her what they each do. Also for the first time Ashlyn had two pictures taken. She was a star! She did so great.
After Ashlyn was Kyle's turn.... his first ever dentist appointment. He liked the chair rides but was a bit nervous to have to lay down and have a bright light shine on his face. He had all his teeth counted, 8 total so far, two year-old molars still to come. Kyle too did a great job, during the really quick brushing, mom had to hold his hand and encourage him but overall being still very young he was awesome.
Dr. Johnson came and took his turn checking both the kids teeth. Other than a couple chips on Kyle from being the ruff and tumble kid he is, all 18 teeth he checked today came out with a big thumbs up.

I am so proud of how well my sweet kids did. Thank you Kathy (hygienist) and Dr. Johnson (aka our Bishop) for being so awesome with my kids.

I took Peyton to Dr. Johnson too, and he did awesome! I loved his dental hygienist too! Peyton even had a cavity and after he had to go back and get it filled, he said he wanted to go back to the dentist, that it was fun! I had to explain to him that it isn't good to have a cavity. But he didn't care, he just loved going!

LOL.... Melissa, that is too funny. That is so great that he does have positive feeling about going.

Well I am thoroughly jealous of your visits to the dentist. Nanna's visits were the total opposite end of the spectrum. So much so that she has to go to St. Luke's for a gereal anasthesia surgery to get the rest of hers fixed. YIKES!! I need to update my blog with the pics of the tooth that Dr. Young pulled on Tues. Be thankful, be very thankful that your kids enjoy their visits. I wanted to take my camera too, but wasn't brave enough. I didn't know what the dentist would think of that, and in the end it was better that I didn't. Cute pics though. :)

Darn Brooke, I am sorry to hear that. I was just lucky they didn't have to do much. They both would have freaked if there was any pain involved. I am just grateful for these positive experiances to help them along for the day that it is something more.
